  1. According to the declaration of UNESCO’s General Conference 15 April is annually celebrated as World Art Day by the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP), a non-governmental organization to commemorate Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday, recognizing the importance of art in promoting creativity, cultural diversity, and information exchange.
  2. National Fire Service Day is annually observed across India on 14 April to pay homage to the firefighters who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and emphasize the importance of fire service.  
  3. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on 12 April 2023, announced that K Krithivasan would take over as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director from 1 June, 2023.
  4. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organized the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) at ITI College in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir on 10 April, 2023.
  5. Nilesh Bhagwan Sambre, the founder of Jijau Educational and Social Foundation, was recently honored with the ‘Maratha Udyog Ratna’ award at the Maratha Entrepreneurs Conference 2023.  
  6. On the occasion of SEBI Foundation Day, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) unveiled its new logo at a ceremony held in Mumbai.  
  7. India’s first post office using 3D printing technology will be built at Cambridge Layout in Ulsoor, Bengaluru. It is being implemented by Larsen & Toubro.
  8. In the World Chess Armageddon Asia & Oceania event, teenaged Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh defeated former world rapid champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov of Uzbekistan in the final to win the title.
  9. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, has declared that 28 May, the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, will be celebrated as ‘Swatantrya Veer Gaurav Din’.
  10. Saudi Arabia received the flag for hosting the Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) World Cup Finals 2024.
  11. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has named India’s first semi-high-speed regional rail services as ‘RAPIDX’.
  12. Canara Bank and NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd (NBBL) have collaborated to launch a service that allows Indians residing in Oman to make payments for their bills in India.  
  13. The Greek and Indian Air Forces will collaborate on a joint training exercise with Su-30, F-16, and Rafale fighter jets for ten days over Greece and the Mediterranean Sea as part of the annual Greek exercise Iniochos 23. The training is scheduled to begin on 18 April, 2023 and will conclude on 28 April, 2023.
  14. According to a recent census report on tigers in the country, Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary has been identified as a new area where photographic evidence of tigers has been captured for the first time.
  15. Stanford University’s AI Index report states that India is ranked fifth in terms of investments received by startups offering AI-based products and services in 2022.
  16. Jalabala Vaidya, a renowned theatre artist and co-founder of Delhi’s Akshara Theatre, passed away on 9 April, 2023 at the age of 86.
